Description

Easter Sugar Cookies are soft and buttery treats that brighten up any spring celebration. Easy to decorate, they’ll delight your family and friends with every colorful bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups icing sugar (for frosting)
  • Food coloring gel (as desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing in vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients while mixing until fully combined.
  5. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft. Cool on sheets before transferring to wire racks.
  7. For frosting, mix icing sugar with water or milk to a spreadable consistency; color as desired and decorate cooled cookies.
