  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed

  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast with 1 tsp sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, salt, melted butter, eggs, and activated yeast mixture until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare Filling: Mix cocoa powder, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  6. Roll & Fill: Punch down the dough and roll it out to about ¼ inch thick. Sprinkle filling evenly over the surface before rolling tightly into a log.
  7. Create Twist: Cut the log lengthwise and twist the two halves together before placing on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
