- 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; sauté until fragrant. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add Tomatoes & Seasoning: Pour in crushed tomatoes along with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes to meld flavors.
- Mix Cheeses: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, basil, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Assemble the Lasagna: Spread some meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles on top followed by ricotta mixture, mozzarella, more sauce; repeat until ingredients are used.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover lasagna with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let It Rest: Allow the lasagna to rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
