Description

Classic Lasagna is the ultimate comfort food, featuring layers of tender pasta, rich meat sauce, and a blend of creamy cheeses. Perfectly baked until golden and bubbling, this dish is not just a meal; it’s a heartwarming experience that brings family and friends together.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; sauté until fragrant. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned.
  2. Add Tomatoes & Seasoning: Pour in crushed tomatoes along with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes to meld flavors.
  3. Mix Cheeses: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, basil, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna: Spread some meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles on top followed by ricotta mixture, mozzarella, more sauce; repeat until ingredients are used.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover lasagna with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let It Rest: Allow the lasagna to rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
