  • 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz canned whole tomatoes
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic.
  2. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned. Add canned tomatoes, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, and cheese mixture. Repeat layers and finish with remaining mozzarella.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden.
