  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tsp chai spice mix
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • For the Icing: 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm, sprinkle yeast over it, and let sit for five minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, chai spice mix, salt, softened butter, pumpkin puree, and yeast mixture; mix until combined.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about five to seven minutes until soft and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel; let rise for one hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it. Sprinkle brown sugar mixed with chai spices on top.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and cut into one-inch slices.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another thirty minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for twenty-five minutes until golden brown.
  8. For icing, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
