  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. Mix sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let them sit for about 30 minutes to create a syrup.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually stir in the milk until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
