  • 8 ounces fresh button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients: chop the onion and garlic, slice the mushrooms, and cut the beef into thin strips against the grain.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add onions and sauté until translucent. Then add garlic and mushrooms; cook until browned (about 5 minutes).
  3. Push the vegetables to one side; add seasoned beef strips. Brown on all sides without cooking through completely.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture; stir well to combine. Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Let simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Lower heat; stir in Worcestershire sauce and sour cream until creamy and well mixed.
  6. Serve over egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
