- 8 soft flour tortillas or 8 crunchy corn taco shells
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup diced ripe tomatoes
- ½ cup salsa (homemade or store-bought)
- ¼ cup sliced pickles (optional)
- 1 avocado (sliced) (optional)
Instructions
- Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into small patties (about 3 inches wide).
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest.
- Warm taco shells in another pan or microwave until pliable.
- During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with shredded cheese to melt.
- Assemble tacos by placing a cheesy patty in each shell and topping with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, avocado, and salsa.
