Description

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
  • Food coloring gel (various pastel colors)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Roll each ball in powdered sugar before placing them back on the sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire racks.
  6. For icing, mix powdered sugar with milk and food coloring until desired consistency is reached. Decorate cooled cookies and add sprinkles if using.
