  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup plain or Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry each breaded chicken breast until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Place fried chicken breasts in the baking dish. Top with marinara sauce and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses generously.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
