  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in paper towels and placing a heavy object on top for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides (10-12 minutes).
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the crispy tofu and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring gently to coat.
  6. Serve hot garnished with chopped green onions alongside rice or noodles.
