  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  3. Roll Out the Dough: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out half of the dough to about 1/4-inch thick on a floured surface. Cut into circles using a round cutter.
  4. Assemble the Pasties: Place a tablespoon of filling on one half of each circle. Moisten edges with egg wash, fold over, and crimp to seal.
  5. Bake: Place on parchment-lined baking sheet, brush tops with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
