Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
For the Filling
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cups cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream for whipping
  • 2 medium bananas sliced
For the Topping
  • 1 cup whipped cream for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate shavings for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
  4. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.
Make the Filling
  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and cornstarch.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Allow the filling to cool slightly before pouring it into the prepared crust.
Assemble the Pie
  1. Slice the bananas and layer them on top of the chocolate filling.
  2. Spread the whipped cream over the bananas, smoothing it evenly.
  3. Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for garnish.
Chill and Serve
  1. Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to set.
  2. Slice and serve chilled.
