Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 12 ounces ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup spinach fresh or frozen, thawed
For the Topping
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
For Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Prepare the Pasta
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Mix the Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, spinach, and seasonings. Mix until well combined.
  2. Fold in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese into the mixture.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
Bake
  1. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serve
  1. Remove the baked ziti from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  2. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, and enjoy your meatless baked ziti!
